Comeback complete as Titans overcome 2 goal deficit to defeat Bobcats 4 – 3

The Titans overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat the visiting Bay State Bobcats 4 – 3 last night in game one of this two-game series at the Middletown Sports Complex. Payton Fobes scored the game winner at 7:20 into the third period.

Bay State got on the board very early in the game – just thirteen seconds to be exact – when Noah Wilk beat Daniel Antal high short side to make it a 1 – 0 game.

George Hinds tied the contest at one with 7:05 remaining in the opening period for his team high thirteenth goal of the season.

The Bobcats when a head 2 – 1 when Jonah Bird scored at 6:08 into the middle stanza. Jason Melanson doubled the visitors margin with 6:37 left in the seconds.

Then the comeback started as time was expiring when William Fliss scored his third goal of the season to make it a 3 – 2 game.

Nico Vaccaro scored his first goal of the season at 6:20 into the third period to tie the game, and Fobes scored a minute and six seconds later to give the Rebels Buckets a 4 – 3 lead and close out the scoring.

Antal stopped 32 of 35 shots in the win while Bay States’ AJ Cooper turned aside 31 of 35 in defeat. Click here for the complete box score.

The teams will meet again for game two of this two-game series tonight at 7:45PM. It will be the last meeting of the season between the teams.
