Comeback Completed as Titans win 3 – 2 over Sharks in Shootout

Trailing by two entering the third period, the visiting Titans scored two unanswered goals to tie the game and then Antonio Vidal and Roy Shaver scored in the shootout to give the Red Buckets a 3 – 2 win over the Long Beach Sharks in game two of this critical two-game series.

With the win, the Titans move back into the fourth seed of the East Division’s final playoff spot.

Logan Plante scored with 3:54 remaining in the opening period to give the Sharks a 1 – 0 lead. Dylan Harbour made it 2 – 0 when he scored his eighteenth goal of the season with 6:54 left in the middle stanza.

William Fliss scored at 1:16 into the third period to cut the Titans deficit in half, and Giuseppe Bianco scored his second goal of the season with 2:32 to tie the game at two and send it into overtime.

After the extra period was scoreless, it went to a shootout. Vidal and Shaver converted on their chances while Jake Agoglia stopped both Sharks’ players.

Agoglia turned aside 38 of 40 shots while Long Beach’s Colten McIntyre stopped 38 of 40 shots as well. Click here for the complete box score.

The Titans have five games remaining in the season – all against very tough teams. They play the first place Generals next weekend for two games; they play Danbury on Tuesday, February 28 in Danbury, and then they close out the season with two games in Norwich, CT against the Sea Captains March 3 and 4.
