Fobes goal in OT gives Titans 3 – 2 win over Bobcats

Payton Fobes scored with 1:59 remaining in overtime to give the visiting Titans a 3 – 2 win over the Bay State Bobcats to complete a weekend sweep between the teams. William Fliss also hit the back of the net.

Fliss scored his second goal of the weekend and season at 7:55 into the first period to give the Titans a 1 – 0 when he took a sharp angle shot that beat Bobcats goalie Jacob King high short side that knocked off the water bottle on top of the net.

Three minutes later Fobes scored his first goal of the game when he took a one-timer from the top of the far side faceoff circle to give the Titans a 2 – 0 lead.

Bay State’s Landen Schoonover scored with 7:33 remaining in the opening period to bring the Bobcats within one.

The Bobcats tied the game with 4:13 into the second period on Jordan Griffin’s third goal of the season.

After regulation ended tied at two, and playing three-on-three hockey, Fobes took an in close, sharp angle shot the squeaked by King and rolled into the net to give the Titans the win.

Jake Agoglia, who played in both games this weekend, stopped 28 of 30 shots while Hill turned aside 31 0f 34. Click here for the complete box score.

It was win number 14 on the season for the Titans, which matches last year’s total. It also was point number 30, which surpasses last year’s total points by one.
