Nov 21, 2021

The visiting Northeast Generals rolled to an 8 – 0 over the Titans last night. Despite the lopsided loss, both Titans netminders – Donovan Alfama and Colin Freitas – played extremely well having to come up with several grade A saves. In all, the goalies combined to stop 84 of 92 shots. Yes, 92 shots.

Nolan Murphy had a hat trick for the Generals.

Murphy scored the game’s first goal at the 11:36 mark of the opening period. Peyton Felix doubled the score a minute and a half later. Braeden Kennedy scored with seventeen seconds left in the first to make it 3 – 0.

Murphy’s second goal of the game just 2:14 into the middle stanza made it 4 – 0. Two minutes later Cedric Savoie scored his first goal of the season to make it 5 – 0. Owen McNamee scored a powerplay goal with 6:07 left in the period.

Alfama then was replaced by Freitas.

Tyler Ramm scored his sixth goal of the season with 5:37 remaining in the third, and then Murphy completed the hat trick on the powerplay with twelve seconds left in the game.

Alfama stopped 54 of 60 shots and Freitas turned aside 30 of 32. Northeast’s Mason Joseph stopped all 14 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season. Click here for the box score.

The teams will meet again tonight at 5:30PM at the Middletown Sports Complex.
