Generals rout Titans 7 -0 in battle of unbeaten teams

The Northeast Generals routed the visiting New Jersey Titans 7 – 0 in this first of two-game series between the teams.

Both entered this weekend series undefeated with the Generals having a 7 – 0 record, and the Titans with a 6 – 0 record. Plus, the Titans were coming off of a thrilling 4 – 3 come from behind overtime win against the Long Beach Sharks on Thursday.

Unfortunately, the Titans are undefeated no more.

After a scoreless first period, the Generals scored seven unanswered goals, six of them in the second period. The Generals’ Braeden Kennedy and Matthew Nuzzolilo each had a goal and two assists. Northeast’s Nolan Murphy had two goals.

Donovan Alama and Logan Hensley turned aside 49 of 56 shots in defeat while the Generals’ Mason Joseph stopped all 24 he faced for the shutout. Click here for the complete box score.

The teams will meet again this afternoon at 4:00 PM for game two at the New England Sports Village.
