Mar 1, 2023

The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks scored five third period goals en route to a 6 – 1 win over the visiting Titans yesterday. Despite the loss, and with two games remaining in the season, the Red Buckets still hold the fourth and final spot in the East Division playoff seeding.

After a scoreless first period, Jacob Gray scored this sixth goal of the season to give the Titans a 1 – 0 lead at the 7:47 mark of the middle stanza. Danbury’s Nick Rogers tied the game with 5:31 remaining.

After William Fliss was called for a game misconduct just 2:44 into the third, the Tricks scored two goals within twenty-nine seconds to put the game out of reach. Rogers would score his second goal of the game at 3:11 and then Oleg Egorov scored his first goal of the game twenty-nine seconds later to make it 3 – 1.

Rogers, Denis Radchenko and Egorov would light the lamp to close out the scoring and make it a 6 – 1 game.

Titans netminders Jake Agoglia and Antonio Vaccaro combined to stop 25 of 31 shots while Ryan Maguire turned aside 28 of 29. Click here for a complete box score.
