Three, first period goals propel Titans to 4 – 3 win over Danbury for Red Buckets first win of the season

Payton Fobes, Ryan Talorico and George Hinds scored three first period goals to help lead the visiting Titans to a 4 – 3 victory over the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks for the Red Buckets first win of the season.

The four goals scored were a season high in six games so far.

Fobes scored an unassisted goal at three minutes into the first period to give the Titans a 1 – 0 lead. A minute and thirty-three seconds later Talorico scored his first of the game to double the Red Buckets lead. Hinds scored at 7:02 into the first to make it 3 – 0. It was Hinds’ third goal of the season.

Danbury’s Lou Caulfield scored with fifty-seven seconds remaining in the opening period to put the Jr. Hat Tricks on the board.

Midway through the second period Danbury’s Oleg Egorov scored to cut the Trick’s deficit in half. Talorico scored his second goal of the game at 7:46 into the third period to give the Titans a two-goal lead again. Then with 9:38 remaining in the game, the Jr. Hat Tricks’ Brody Trew scored a powerplay goal to close out the scoring and make it a 4 – 3 game.

The Titans William Kelly stopped 26 of 29 shots in the win while Gennaro Demaio turned aside 29 of 33. Click here for the complete box score.

The two teams will meet again on Wednesday at 12:30PM at the Middletown Sports Complex. It will be their third game against each other in a week.
