Titan stay competitive but isn’t enough as the fall 2 – 1 to Sea Captains

The visiting Titans played another very competitive game, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Norwich Sea Captains 2 – 1 in the first game of this two-game series.

Norwich’s Nicolas Piluso opened the scoring with 7:41 remaining in the first period. It was his first goal of the season, and was assisted by Jack Kinahan, his first of the game.

With 9:27 remaining in the middle stanza, Sam Levin was called for roughing to give the Sea Captains the man advantage. A minute later, Norwich’s Tim Hayden scored his first goal of the year to double the Sea Captains lead.

With 4:55 left in the second, Norwich’s Sava Makarenko was called for slashing to put the Titans on the powerplay. A minute and a half later, George Hinds cut the Titans deficit in half but it was enough as they fell to the Sea Captains 2 – 1. It was Hinds first goal of the season.

William Kelly stopped 29 of 31 shots in defeat while Norwich’s Andrew Yocum turned aside 21 of 22. Click here for the box score.
