Titans fall to Jr. Hat Tricks 2 – 1

Sep 21, 2022

Danbury’s Denis Radchenko scored with six minutes remaining in regulation to break a 1 – 1 tie to give the visiting Jr. Hat Tricks a 2 – 1 victory over the Titans. The loss keeps the Red Buckets winless on the young season.

The score remaining tied at zero after two periods of play. Then Titans forward Nick Trabb opened the scoring at 2:20 into the third period. The Titans Jordan Campo picked up the loose puck just outside his own near side blueline and made a cross-ice pass up to Jacob Gray. As Gray started to go into the offensive zone, he had to cut around a Danbury defender and Gray passed the biscuit to Trabb at the top of the point. As Trabb gained the line, he took a wrist shot that handcuffed Jr. Hat Tricks goalie Ryan Maguire and the puck got away from Maguire and rolled into the net for Trabb’s first goal of the year.

Four and a half minutes later, Danbury’s Oleg Egorov knotted the score at one. The Tricks’ Antonio Felidi picked up the puck behind the Titans net and brought it around the cage and to the left of Titans netminder Jake Agoglia. As Felidi was blocked off from going through the slot, he made a pass to Denis Radchenko at the near side point. Radchenko took a clapper that was redirected by Egorov and past Agoglia for Egorov’s first goal of the year.

Radchenko then closed out the scoring with his first goal of the season. Radchenko started the play at the top of the Titans near side point. Radchenko passed the biscuit to the half wall to Roman Winicki who skated behind and around the Titans cage and passed it back to  Eryk Fancher at the far side point. Fancher made a cross-point pass to Radchenko who took a slapshot that found its way through a screen and past Agoglia for the game winner.

Agoglia turned aside 16 of 18 shots while Maguire stopped 28 of 29. Click here for the box score.
