Titans topple Sharks 3 – 1

The Titans defeated the visiting Long Beach Sharks last night 3 – 1 in a very late game at the Middletown Sports Complex. It was the Red Buckets second straight win and third out of their last four games.

Ryan Talorico scored just 1:10 into the game to give the Titans an early 1 – 0 lead with an assist from Tommy Atanacio. It was Talorico’s sixth goal of the season.

Kurt Johnson, who has been on fire of late, double the Titans lead at 4:46 into the period with an assist from Jacob Gray and Sam Levin. Johnson also scored his sixth goal

Long Beach’s Henry Slager scored midway through the second to make it a 2 – 1 game but Levin scored an empty net goal with forty-eight seconds remaining in the game to close out the scoring and make it 3 – 1.

Daniel Antal, who was making his Titans debut, stopped 36 of 37 shots in the win while Long Beach’s Ryo Murakami turned aside 30 of 32. Click here for the box score.

The teams will play game two of this two-game series tonight at 7:30PM at the Middletown Sports Complex.
