Titans upended by Hat Tricks 5 – 2

The Titans fell to the visiting Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks this afternoon 5 – 2. It was the Red Buckets fifth consecutive loss and ninth out of their last twelve games after starting the season 6 – 0.

Danbury’s Dylan Walker opened the scoring at 9:16 of the first period to give the Jr. Hat Tricks a 1 – 0 lead. Six minutes later Nikita Kovalev scored his eleventh goal of the season to double the Tricks lead.

Ivan Kovalev gave the Tricks a 3 – 0 just 2:52 into the middle stanza. Nikita Kovalev scored his second goal of the game with 2:33 remaining in the period to make it 4 – 0. Seth Beagle scored with fifty-eight seconds remaining in the second period to make it a 5 – 0 game.

The Titans finally scored at 4:04 into the final period on Jesse Dickinson’s first goal the season. It was the Red Buckets first goal in over 160 minutes of playing time.

Alex Blaszak scored with 4:28 left in the game to make it 5 – 2 and close out the scoring.

Colin Freitas stopped 43 of 48 shots in defeat while Gennaro Demiao turned aside 21 of 23. Click here for the box score.
